As most begin to prepare for the Holiday season, it’s easy to become wrapped up in all that we have to do to ensure a fun, joyful time for all we are responsible for and overlook all that we have to be thankful for. Making a Difference Today and for Tomorrow
This month, SickKids is hosting Emma IS: A Night for IS. This gala is meant to raise awareness and funds for Infantile Spasms (IS), a type of epilepsy seen in babies and young children. The gala is on Nov. 24, and includes dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction. Emma IS was inspired by Emma, who was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms in 2014. She was just 7 months old and has been living with the condition ever since. In 2019, Emma underwent surgery at the Hospital for Sick Kids in Toronto, and was the first person in Canada to receive the newest epilepsy implant. This incredible development was possible because of generous donors like the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN)!
